I've seen several Tribs on the road and in the parking lot, but it seems that nobody even looks at each other, much less smile and/or acknoledge a fellow Tribute owner. 'Not expecting this anyway over here, hehe, but I have yet to talk w/ another Tribute owner whom I've encountered on the road somewhere.

Well, fellow NY'ers (especially in Long Island), you can't mistake my Tribute for another (probably the only one w/ grille guards and Hella lights), so do wave @ me and I'll take note and ask here on this board when that happens. :) Hey, BBQ season's here!

Maybe I've see too many NYPD Blue episodes - but I thought everyone in NY honked and flashed lights at each other! :)

Hehe .. hey, tinoman1! Are you getting your Liberty end of July, early August? I removed myself from the Liberty club for lack of activity but I still check in from time to time.

I have an ES in Chestnut Mica. I reorganized the pix I posted into fewer, smaller images ... they're under "orliec - add-ons & mods" ... here's the URL:
http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/mazdatributeownersclub?gc&.alabel=alb64<\ /a>

I've seen quite a few Tributes here in Raleigh, NC. The owners act much the same here. I've met another owner at a Amoco station who had a Desert Metallic DX (I've got the DM ES-V6). Desert Metallic seems to be the most popular color by far around here.

There are definitely more Tribbys on the road these days--mainly because there are more on the dealers' lots, I think, and you can buy one now, unlike earlier in the year. My husband delivers parts to body shops (inc. Ford & Mazda) all over southeast GA & SC and does alot of driving along the Brunswick-Savannah-Charleston corridor. He gives me a "Tribute/Escape Sighting" report every day and it used to be that he only saw Escapes, but now he sees 4 - 6 Tributes daily.

Granted, most folks don't think of their car owning experience as a hobby so although I always wave like the dickens when I see another Tribute, most of the Tribute drivers I encounter couldn't care less...

That's OK, I still see mine in the parking lot and am proud that it is MY car.

I know what you mean about owners not acknowledging other Tribby owners. I personally think it is a good idea to identify and discuss issues with other local tribby owners.

I have met 2 owners (by my own active pursuit :-)

One, before my tribby was delivered. I saw the Tribby on a main street and followed it into a restaurant parking lot where I got a chance to ask the new owner some questions on their experiences.

The second owner, I met yesterday. It was kind of cool-he looked sideways at my es and I was checking out his lx. We tried to hold a short conversation while driving (yes - we know this is soooo wrong) and ended up pulling over to compare repairs, recalls and quirky tribute issues. He also said he had not spoken with another owner so it was really nice to compare/discuss tribute experiences.

In my opinion-it would be really nice if most tribby owners would acknowledge each other in public. The tributes/escapes that we all own are first year production vehicles so it just goes to reason that their are going to be some problems and quirks (fuel smells, engine cut off, LONG gear shifter-don't we all have something to mention) that we can help one another out with. Oh well-I am just venting!

But if you are in the West Michigan Area and you see a beautiful Chestnut ES passing you-feel free to flash me!

Lily 11224
