I just thought I would add my 2 cents on the
Saturn VUE. I checked it out yesterday at the Austin
Auto Show. I really don't think Mazda or Ford will
have a problem with loosing sales to Saturn. The
styling isn't all that, and the interior is really cheap.
The doors have no armrests, or at least one high
enough to use and the door is about 2 inches thick.
Let's see how good that does in a side impact. Size
wise it is similar to the Tribute. However, the
interior is full of cheap parts, worse than the Trib, and
the "Vue" out is actually worse. It really reminded
me of the Hyundai Santa Fe from the driver's seat.
The interior's ergonomics were pretty bad, too. There
were switches all over the place, but worst of all the
power window switches were splayed around the shifter
at an odd angle. Since I wasn't planning on waiting
for the VUE anyway, I am glad I picked the best
mini-ute of the bunch!
