1st thing after I got my Tribute I removed the "Mazda" and "Tribute ES V-6" badges from the rear. Looks real clean and was easy to do, used a 1.5" plastic putty knife. Put wide masking tape around the borders, worked slowly and pried gently. Not much adhesive left to clean off.

The big advantage of this comes at waxing time -- not all of those letters to try to remove the wax around. I guess instead of "gold" or "black pearl" badging you could call mine "clear". Plus, mine didn't cost anything extra

....plus if you need to get the hatch repainted, they won't have to charge you for the dumb emblems.

Keep your emblems! Don't throw them out, someday you'll be selling or trading the vehicle and definitely want them on when that time comes. Simply because OFTEN vehicles without emblems have been previously damaged in an accident AND for a dealer (non Mazda) it is virtually impossible for them to tell the model. Some Used Car managers aren't the brightest.....

You didn't make a mistake taking them off....I considered it...but just remember them for trade/selling time later on.

bob

For a while....emblems got tiny...they're back big and bold. They kinda got smaller during the time brand symbols got popular but now we get a brand symbol on front, back, and wow, even a big huge MAZDA, TRIBUTE logo...I'm still waiting on my signage commission. lol

bob

Thanks Bob -- I did keep them. I guess I could have named the original post "Badges, I don't need no steenking badges"
