My dealer charges customers 17.95 for a LOF???? If anyone wants a "service" it is more but just say you want an oil change. The dealer is 100X worth it if you can stand going there. 99.9% of an oil change is the proper "quality" filter with a check and bypass valve. Failure to do so can result in a "potential" problem if you have ANY oil or oil related issue with warranty.<br><br>Not taking your "thunder" only warning. You can do oil changes outside the dealer but use a factory filter or VERY high quality. Some filters (and Walmart is one) use a "plug". A terrible filter....Walmart will credit you the cost of the filter by the way.<br><br>bob

Ok.....still, keep records with it showing the Motorcraft filter, ok. I buy 'em 3 at a time as they are buy 2 get 1 free. They run $4.55 each or 3 for $9.10.....(for my other Mazda). Fortunately all new cars come with free LOF's for life. I WANT synthetic! <br><br>bob
