Well I just looked up under the dash to see if there was any Tribute like rust on my new Mazda, also looked at the muffler,no rust, what the heck is going on is this just a Ford kind of thing. God rest it's soul, where ever my late lamented Tribute DX is. May it rest in peace.

We've had our Tribute ES for a little over five months. The other day I noticed liquid dripping from the rear of the car. I found that a hole has already rusted through the muffler. Now we have to take it back to the dealer so they can look at the problem. Since the parts aren't in, there will be a follow-up visit. We are getting to know the service department personnel well.

On the plus side, the 'fuel smell' problem appears to have been fixed. It took about an hour and a half to replace the intake manifold gaskets. So far so good!
