I got my Trib back from the service dept this afternoon. They had to order a new left side c/v boot, along with a new rack and seal. Unfortunately, they scheduled installation for October 16 because I need a loaner. Has anyone else found that they have to wait alot longer to schedule an appt because of needing a loaner?
My friend who owns a service station thinks it's a bit absurd that I'm having this problem with a new car. He said it's expected on older cars but not new ones.

My dealer when they do not have a loaner for me to take they rent a rental so I always get the fix as soon as they have the parts.

When I first called the service dept about the leak, the receptionist told me if I needed a loaner the earliest date they could give me was Oct. 11. I balked at that and called the following day when the service manager was in. By that time I had my friend who owns a service station check out what the problem was. With that information in hand, I called the service manager and he made an appt for me for this past Wednesday with a loaner. However, when I got there, the receptionist told me that they hadn't scheduled a loaner. They did end up giving me a car from a rental company that was actually on their lot. They store some of their rentals there.
What pisses me off is that when you ask for a loaner, they tell you they can't take your vehicle right away. They put you off for a few weeks.

The service depts at any mazda dealership HAVE to supply you with a loaner car from a rental place.
It's in the Mazda Driver's Assurance Plan!!!! When you buy a new Mazda it's included! It is during the warranty period of 3 yrs or 50,000 miles. If they dont comply, ask to speak to the dealership's general manager or call Mazda directly and that # is in the warranty supplement book provided with your owner's manual.

I'd definitely find out what's going on and talk to the general manager if they didnt supply customers with one.

I know, because I SELL the Mazda products.

Sincerely,
Robert Jacobs
Internet Manager

I called Mazda's customer service in California this afternoon after reading your post. They said also I shouldn't have to wait 3 weeks to get my Trib repaired just because I need a loaner. They should have loaners available now.
They tried calling the local service dept but the service manager had left for the day already. The customer service rep said they would call the service dept again tomorrow and have them get me a loaner and repair my Trib so I won't have to wait 3 weeks. They seemed very pleasant and helpful. I'll find out tomorrow what's going to be.

I never did hear back today from the local service dept or Mazda Customer service. She was supposed to call here after 1pm and never called. I ended up calling Mazda Customer Service again. They put me through to the lady's voice mail and she never did get back to me. So, now I'll have to stew all weekend. That really pisses me off!

sorry to hear that! have you tried contacting the general manager of the store? are there other stores locally? If so i'd be more tempted to take it to them rather than that dealer.....make sure when you get a call from mazda asking about the service you received, to tell them it was horrible! Hopefully it'll get fixed to YOUR satisfaction.......also call the salesman who sold your tribby to ya and let him know!

Sincerely,
Robert Jacobs
Internet Manager
