Jumping off the Bandwagon?

I?m about ready to jump off the bandwagon. After being a staunch Tribute/Escape advocate and ordering a Tribute in August (for my wife) and I do not having any clue when the vehicle will arrive, I have about had it.

There are two major reasons:

1. The dealer has told me that orders from customers are taking second priority to general order units. They have units coming in that are close to my order but they will only sell them at list. I found out that these units coming were ordered after mine. BTW, my sales person left the dealership and the sales person that took over from him left the dealership so I have a third sales person.

Wamdalm, you and I ordered from the same place and it appears from your last post that you?re getting the same treatment.

2. I looked objectively at the recall and reliability issues that haunt the Tribute/Escape. I am coming to the conclusion that if I knew what I know now about the Tribute/Escape I would not have ordered the vehicle. This is hard because I have become emotionally attached to the vehicle.

So, I?m getting cold feet and my wife wants a car now. She found a Toyota dealer that is selling Camrys at $300 under invoice. I think she has the deciding vote.

Good Luck

We felt like you and had actually cancelled our original order. We changed our mind a couple of times but decided to go ahead in mid October. We got a call from the dealer a week ago that two white ES tributes were available - one plain Jane and one loaded. Since my wife wanted ABS, we selected the loaded ES. The vehicle was delivered to our house this past Monday. Except for the minor annoyance of the shift lever, we are very pleased with the vehicle. It appears Mazda/Ford have fixed a lot of the initial problems. It is a fun, comfortable vehicle. Pricing in our area is also favorable - we paid 3% above invoice (about $1100 under invoice).
