Hello everyone,

I was wondering about the comfortability of the seats in the Tribute. I recently sat in the Escape's cloth seats and found the feel to be rather hard. I would imagine that after a couple of hours on the road in those my glutious maximus would be aching.

Do the Trib's cloth seats have a similar feeling as well? For those of you who have ES's how do the leather seats feel? How do the seats feel after a couple of thousand miles on the road? I'm assuming that they do have a better feel and the thought of having leather seats is pretty nice; I want to save some money though.

Thanks again,

Jeff

Just got back...almost literally from 4 hours on the road. 70-90ish MPH...very very very comfortable cloth LX seats...no complaints in the rear 2 people either. I came out of a plush leather interior of our previous car a 626 ES and I can tell you without reservation NO back aches, no tush aches...and I have a bad back from an accident!!!

bob

Well one thing I can agree on, yes I like the cloth seats on my Trib better then the leather on my loaner 626 ex.

Sorry to hear you're getting a wiff of the fumes again, hope the new manifold and gasket fixes everything, hope they do the same to mine. It's my last attempt on my part dispite my yearning for the Santa Fe I would never buy a Hyundai, it's back to Honda's and Toyota's, sedans I'm afraid as there is no decent Japanese SUV in my price range, I'm unwilling to spend the big bucks. The Trib/Esc was perfect in size and price to bad they didn't make it over there in Japan, would have been a mighty fine vehicle.

I have leather seats and love them. They are comfortable. Mine has 1300 miles and the seats are getting softer as the leather breaks in. It wasn't an option I had to have but since I bought off the lot I took it with the leather and don't regret it. Since I have dogs, the clean-up is great, just a dust rag and all fur is gone.

If you care to drive a Mazda built Escape/Tribute you have to get one that is RIGHT hand driver....But I bet it is better!!! FYI...the Mazda/Ford venture uses MAZDA robotics but the problem does not seem to be build quality...its the ENGINE built in Ohio.

Absolutely great point....the dog fur is gone and NO dog smell. My parents have leather in their 626 JUST for the dogs. My ole' 626 ES had leather...I did want leather but I too bought off the lot so I had to get cloth to get the ABS/bags I wanted...Plus the color is kinda rare which I like....Chestnut Mica....p.s. Mica is the only color that changes in the different light....sometimes burgundy, sometimes metallic red, sometimes PURPLE..LOL

bob
