I have a 2004 mazda 6, 2.3. bought the car 1500 dollars knowing that it had problems. bottom end of the motor was shot, so i bought another used motor guaranteed to run. put the motor in plugged everything back up. Now i have a problem. the motor will crank, it will start on ether but it will not stay running. it is throwing codes. p0335. CKP sensor circuit malfunction. i tested the sensor as to guidlines and it seems to be workig properly. i also used the sensor off of the bad motor with the same result. I tried erasing the code and after one crank it reappears. i checked the wiring from the sensor all the way to the computer for breaks all looks well. any opinions/suggestions on what to check or how to fix this? thanks in advanced. I've drained out the old gas & put in new.

New battery, but for the most part, the engine won't turn over. When I turn the key I usually get a single click, then nothing, acting like the classic bad connection at the battery. I've cleaned the terminals until they're bleeding, but still no go. ONE time, it turned over and started, but not after that.

I've also jumped it from a running pickup, but the Miata behaves the same.

Has anyone had similar experiences (with a solution?)

I am having a problem when shifting (manual transmission) with my 2001 Tribute DX. In fact, whatever speed I'm driving in and at whatever RPM, if I press on the clutch pedal and keep it this way, my RPM will increase or decrease (according to the engine speed I was) to about 2,000 RPM for maybe two seconds or so before going down slowly after.

The other cars I had, whenever I would press on the clutch pedal, the RPM would go down right away, so my guess is it's not normal that the engine speed even go up when I press the clutch and get to neutral. But if I'm at a stop (0 mph) and I press the clutch pedal, it doesn't happen, so it is only when the car is moving at maybe 10 mph and over.

So what should I be looking for ??? I have absolutely no clue what could it be.... The car has been doing this since I have it, so maybe 10 000 miles.

properly. The super thick humidity and the storm that followed may have helped (we were camping). In any
event, just the master switch was affected. Testing showed all other wires were fine.

This is an automatic transmission. Problem is I cannot figure out how to disengage the cable grip? (black round thing) that is bolted to the engine just above the shift lever so I can bring the cable up to view. Anyone know how to get this thing out? My MS6 needs a new seal in the shifter to stop a leak. The mechanic has been looking all week for the part. He called it a linkage arm seal. Mazda does not sell the part and it would be around $750 to replace the whole shifter instead of just the seal. Here is a link to the part hosted on Google docs. Sometimes it stalls while on the road.
At times you while accelerating, it hesitates, also the shifting is not as smooth even though I recently changed the transmission oil and filter kit.

I assume Bank 1 is the side closest to the firewall but I don't know which O2 sensor is Sensor 3.

Does anyone know the location/which sensor is Bank 1 Sensor 3?

I found the info necessary to answer my question. If anyone else is interested the part necessary is Mazda part #0000-81-H20. Mazda wants almost $400 but I found a couple companies online offering it for a little over $300. I also found it on ebay for $285.

I have a 2002 Mazda 6. I have noticed that there is a delay of around 20 seconds for the car to engage to Drive. This happens only in the morning when I start the car. The AT light would come on. This problem is no longer evident through out the day irrespective of how many times I switch on/off the car.

Can anyone shed some light on what could be the problem. After a recent oil change the technician said my oil pan had a leak and would require replacement. He said the cause was most likely from corrosion from roadway salt used during the winter (I live in Vermont). Installed quote was for $410. Can anyone give me an idea if this is a good quote or perhaps there is an alternative issue that needs to be addressed rather than replacement of the oil pan? I was wondering if the pan was made of aluminium and therefore wouldn't be subject to rust/corrosion and perhaps the oil pan gasket is all that needs to be replaced? Also, if the pan needs to be replaced, is it something a can do easily? I've changed oil myself in the past, and I would not be intimidated by having to remove an oil pan, clean it up, replace the gasket etc. as long as there isn't some difficult surprise/challenges.

Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated!
