Idle Noise On 2003 Tribute

Newbie Group: Members Posts: 1 Joined: 23-January 12 Member No.: 6,991 Drives: 2003 Mazda Tribute Location: Alabama	My husband's Tribute began making a high-pitched noise on idle just after the alternator was replaced. One person suggested a belt that was too tight, but when I took it to the mechanic, they say they don't hear anything out of the ordinary. My daughter can come out of school and find the car by sound, so something's not right. Any suggestions?
