I May Be Zoom, Zoom Zooming!

On a lark, I decided to stop by my local dealer on the way home. This visit went a little bit different than usual however because I got to deal directly with the sales manager. I think they might be short of their month end quota because he seemed like he really wanted to make a sale. He didn't have the model I'm looking for (LX with ABS) but he did have an ES with moon roof that he was willing to offer as trade with another dealer. After 20 minutes or so he came back and told me he found a LX with ABS in Sunburst red. It's the one I'm looking at the price I expected. He said he?d know more by tomorrow but if all goes well... Zoom, Zoom Zoom!

Brian Avila

Brian....you are correct on the short sales...Feb is and always will be a HARD month. You have this month minus a weekend and a 28day month in order to sell a 30 day sales goal. Most are in the crunch time right now...(I always hated it)

bob

Curious... Perhaps I'm just being pesimystic but does it seem odd that a LX with ABS is sitting on a dealers lot? Isn't this a fairly popular model and hasn't it been some time since Mazda has produced the LX with ABS? Is it possible that Mazda is still shipping them to dealers even though they haven't produced them in a while?

Brian Avila

That is the misconception....they have been building LX and EX w/AB3 option. It is they were/are just so behind on orders. Our dealer has 7 AB3 LX/ES on the way. Like I put before...if you are waiting and waiting and can live with another color, ask...perhaps Mazda has one sittin' at port.

bob

So much for zoom, zoom. zooming. I just heard from my local dealer and the tribute I was hoping he could get his hands on is already sold. I'm starting to wonder how long I want to play this game. :-(

Brian Avila

Not to burst your bubble Brian, or call your personal preferences flawed; but the Sunburst Red has never been a fast-moving color for getting the Tributes off the lot. (Nowhere near Platinum, Desert Metallic, or White). So yeah, it's entirely possible that a red LX w/ ABS is out there unclaimed.

Heh who cares what the rest of us think on colors. You will be happily driving your LX w/ ABS while others will still be frantically calling every dealer in the state of Texas looking for any Tribute w/ ABS in the color they want. (Yes, personal experience... not fun... trust me)

Actually, Sunburst Red was a bit of a settle. My first choice is Desert but I've all but given up on that possibility. If anyone knows of an LX w ABS anywhere in New England LET ME KNOW! I'll even take a pink one!

Brian Avila

hey, the one I ordered was jewel green - This also does not seem to be to popular. I am surprised to hear that the red in not popular, It looks real nice in photos (and here on the start page for the last few days). It was my second choice.
