I'm no expert, but something tells me your dealer
is selling you a bill of goods.

It seems to
me that since SUVs are top heavy, maintaining
control in an emergency braking situation is important.
If you are able to steer, you have a better chance
at avoiding a rollover situation. As for side impact
airbags, they probably are overrated until you need them.
A lot of crashes aren't frontal, if you get
t-boned, side bags are going to help you out.

Face
it, these are two "options" that for many aren't
optional. I hope both are a "waste" in that I never need
them, but if I crash, I want ABS giving me a fighting
chance of avoiding it altogether and if I can't, air
bags cushioning me.

msph99 (safety weenie)
