What size hitchcover is needed on the Trib? I see that auto-stuff.com has 2 different Mazda logo hitch covers. One is 2 inchs and the other is
1 1/4 inch. It comes in chrome or gold plated.

I'm happy I ordered the stainless steel hitch cover. Plastic will not hold up the way stainless steel will. You also had a choice of the chrome or gold plated. I ordered it from "autostuff.com"

I haven't put it on yet but it did not come with a cotter pin. The chrome hitch cover has the Mazda logo with a bracket attached to the rear with holes. It just slides in but I have to go over to the hardware store and buy something to hold it in place.

I have noticed that the 2002 models that have hitches come with a black rubber cover with the Mazda logo on it. I really want one, so I asked the parts department at my dealer. The guy said he didn't have any info yet on the 2002's and that I should check back in a few months.

i've been looking for receiver brake light to go in my 1 1/4 receiver, but have been unable to locate one. they all come for 2 in. receiver. you would think someone would make one that was 1 1/4 with an adapter for 2 in. that way it would fit both sizes which seem to be common.

I ordered one via the internet about 2 months ago. I ordered one in chrome. I think I got it from auto-stuff.com. You need the 1 1/4 inch one. It also comes in gold plated. Once I received it I had to go out and pick up a locking pin for it. Between the locking pin and the hitch cover, it came to about $35-40.

I too have been trying to order the hitch cover that comes on the 2002 Tributes. I got the part number from the Mazda corporate dealer parts 800# since the dealership did not know the part number.
I am at work now, and the part number is at home, I will post it later. I think it was 0000-E5-F13. I will have to verify when I get home. Anyways, on the phone the Mazda corporate parts guy told me it would cost $6.50. I gave the part number to the dealership and they pulled the part up in their computer. Said it would cost $14.00. Go figure. When the dealership tried to find the part online to order it, he said the part number was coming back as invalid, yet it came up in his computer. Not sure what the problem is, he is investigating it now. Either way, the guy at Mazda corporate told me the part was on back order, so will be a little while before we can get it anyway.

Courtney

You can pick up a very good plain black vinyl hitchcover at U-Haul for $1.15 How many company advertisements do you want to pay for on your Tribute?
