Just installed a set of Hella 500 aux. driving lamps (from www.4x4connection.com for $59.99), but unfortunately I haven't had the time to get the wiring hooked up. I decided to just take a picture and post it here (under Accessories) before removing it until I can get the wiring done. In retrospect, I probably should've removed the stone guard in this pix -- 'not crazy about being a moving billboard for Hella, hehe.

Once they're wired up, I'll post my impressions of 'em ...

When you wire your driving lights, consider using a remote switch kit, I used one from Rally for my fog lights and it makes wiring so much easier because you don't have to run a wire throught the firewall from the engine compartment into the interior and also there's no unsightly rocker switch that you have to find a spot for somewhere on your dash. To turn on the ligts you use a small remote like the one for the alarm and can use it from up to 200 feet, wether the Tribute is on or not. Just a suggestion.

Tell me more about this remote switch kit ... i.e. Rally part #, distributor/merchant, price, etc. Where does the receiver part get mounted? And does this significantly change the wiring scheme? And is this change in wiring diagrammed on the remote switch kit instruction sheet? And can you mount the remote somewhere on the steering wheel column or on the dash (for convenience)? Sorry for the numerous questions ... thanks in advance!

I threw out the box and there is no visible part# on the kit, but I got it at my local Pep Boy's for $30. Basically it's suppose to work with any set of driving/fog lights from any manufacturer. The instruction sheet has pretty good details on how to install, basically you use the kit to replace any wiring that comes with your lights. There are two small black boxes that I velcroed to the side of the battery, they have 2 sets of pos/neg wires that go to each of your lights and that's it. It comes with 2 remotes and one small holder that you can mount on your dash to hold one of the remotes and the other one can go on your keychain.

That's exactly what I was trying to find out. Thanks angel! I post about this again once I have my lights hooked/wired up.
