Does anyone here find that using different brands of gas increases the mileage on their Tribs?

I've found that Shell gas does it best for my Trib, I usually get 30-40 miles more dirving distnce to the tank, 75% highway driving (at 70-80 mph) and 25% city driving. Chevron and 76 seem to be second best followed by Arco and Beacon. Does this mean higher prices pays dividends?

Since my fuel smell fix 4 weeks ago, gas mileage seems to be on the mend. I've been getting about 19.9mpg (Shell) up from about 17.9 mpg (Arco/Beacon), which is actually down from the 20mpg (and rising) I was getting prior to the fix. However in 1000 miles of post fix driving the smell is nowhere to be seen!

Does anyone have any tips for the tire pressure and what they find to be the best psi for driving?

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

I've also found that Shell gas seems to yield better mileage figures compared to some other brands. Tip: get the Shell MasterCard from Chase. You'll get 5% rebate in the form of free gas on all gas purchases and 1% on all other purchases. This should more than compensate for the higher cost of the gas.

I got 18.2 mpg on the last fill-up at 1,800 miles with our LX V6 with mixed driving and the fuel economy is improving. As the Trib is "breaking in" the transmission is upshifting sooner to the higher gears and not downshifting as often. I'm sure that this is helping the fuel economy.
