Good price for a Tribute LX?

Well, I'm toying between the Passat 1.8T Wagon and the Tribute LX. The price MSRP I got for a Galaxy Blue Tribute LX with ABS, 6 disc changer, Step bumper, Tow package and allweather mats (non-luxury package) is $25,623. I can get the x-plan and it would drop it to $23,233.56 plus tax. Seems to be pretty high compared to some prices I've seen. The luxury package would add $1,090 list to the cost but I suppose I could get that for a bit cheaper. Still fairly high but maybe I'm seeing false prices. Do you think this is a good price? What have you guys been getting w/o the x-plan and with what options?<br><br>Thanks for your help in my search.<br><br>John

According to carprices.com which match the prices I see on the stickers of the ones coming off the trucks, the price should be $22778 invoice and $24,474 MSRP for 2001's.<br>Also keep in mind the luxury package includes the 6 disk player so the difference to get the sunroof is $585.<br><br>At least your dealer is talking to you about x plan pricing.
