To All:

I found out today that Texaco
Express Lube is now carrying 5-20 weight motor oil. Here
in San Antonio, they charge about $25.99 for the oil
change/lube and 20 point check.

Their website is

I had my second oil change done today, at a
second dealership (first oil change was when I was out
of state). When I asked the service manager what
gets "lubed", he said there wasn't any lube, all the
fittings are sealed. Just an oil and filter change, $25.

Does anyone know if there are points or locations that
ARE supposed to be lubricated? I think I know one
thing that got greased this trip to the dealer, but we
won't go there.
I was under my Trib last night doing and oil and
filter change, I didn't see ANY greese
fitings.

None on the ball joints, none on tie rods, none on the
drive shafts.... none. Not much to lube.

Greg
Yep, "lube" isn't part of new vehicle maintenance
BUT when those sealed grease containers go you have
more maintenance than if it had the ole' grease
fittings. Just an opinion the ole' style in the long run
made sense. I don't know how long domestic vehicles
have been without'em but my Mazda's all the way back
to the early 80's had no fittings. The U-JOINT in
some still have a fitting....that's about
it.

bob
