Just buy a 12V small light in Radio Shack and take it to a radio repair to change it.

I have a 92 MPV with the same problem. The light on the clock part of the radio burned out two months ago. Very frustrating at night! The face plate is easy to take off but the bulbs look small and delicate. Did you have sucess replacing the bulb(s). I am curious how much it cost. A repair store I went to wanted $75 for starters just to take the radio appart and I had it out of the van already. For that price I can look at my wrist watch!

Hi. You already took off the face plate, that's the most difficult thing to do here. You don't need to be an Electronics Technician to change the bulbs. Just buy a soldering iron with a fine tip, desoldering wick, solder roll, and 12 volts mini bulbs, you can find it all in Radio Shack. Do it yourself. Just heat both terminals at a time while you pull the bulb from the other side. Clean the remainig solder from the board placing the desoldering wick over the solder and heating it(be careful wiht your fingers, the desoldering wick becames hot too). Then, replace the new bulbs, it doesn't matter which terminal you put in any hole, the bulb doesn't have polarity, then, solder the terminals, and cut off the terminals excess. To solder, if you don't know how, first place the bulbs terminals in each hole, bending the terminals to prevent bulb to fall from the board. Heat the bulb and the hole ring at the same time while place a little amount of solder in this area, and that's it. Keep this tools, you going to need it someday. Then, take the $75 and go, have a dinner with your family.<br>Greetings from PR. If you need more information: dxbmorales@....
