Has anyone either replaced front brakes on Mazda 6 (2004) or encountered a good repair guide? Looking for tips and gotchas. Thanks.

Did my front brakes last weekend for the first time. First off, if you have ever done this before on another car you will not have a problem. Once the wheel is off it will become self explainatory. The only thing is you have to take the caliper loose. Brake line is not long enough to rest on the ground so when you get it off balance it on top of the rotor or hang wirh a wire. The caliper has one hexnut to loosen the assembly and then you have top and bottom nuts for the caliper itself to come off. Slide pads in and you done. Whole job, both sides, including time to use the sizzor jack was about 25 minutes for a first timer. Good luck.

I've read the manual from eHow already and I think it's one of the best and proper way to replace the front brake disc.

He's right, even in the previous styles, Mazda made it pretty simple to take care of yourself.
