Hi everyone! I'm so glad I found this group. I've had my Tribute for almost a year now and LOVE it!!! I'm having a great time reading everyone else's experiences with the truck.

Has anyone noticed excessive brake dust on the front wheels? My boyfriend says I just ride the brake too much (do not!), but I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this? ;-)

Thanks for any info. Jess

Yes, we all suffer from brake dust with the original brake pads. The Ford Escape isn't immune, either. You can shop around to try and find some different pads. That might lower the amount of brake dust if it is that big of a problem. I just deal with. If you have ever owned a Mercedes-Benz or BMW, they do it too.

Our brake pads are extremely soft so whenever you brake it generates a lot of brake dust. On the brighter side of things, the soft brakes allow the Tribute to have the best stopping distance of any mini-suv!

I noticed that Kleenwheels has a brake dust shield for the Tribute. I just need to find a dealer locally who sells them...

www.kleenwheels.com

Rob
