AUDIO SYSTEM

For those of you who have purchased the Tribute with the 300 watt system w/ subwoofer - how does it sound? Are you guys happy with it?

I'm very happy with the premium audio system although it sounds noticably better with CD's and tape than radio. The sound quality of CD's is incredible. The radio sound quality is average. It's too bad the system doesn't offer anything more than bass & treble control. A mid control or equalizer is the only thing missing.

The trib's 300 watt sound system is probably one of the best stock systems around! The Cd changer is faster at changing, loading and ejecting cds than the Nakamichi 6 disc changer in my sister's CRV! The sounds are very crisp and clear and the audio controls are easy to operate.<br><br>The only flaw I would say the sound system has is that the column shifter sorta gets in the way. It's no biggie though and it's easy to get used to!<br><br>Does anyone here know what size the main speakers in the door panels are? How about their manufacturer?

Crutchfield lists those speakers as 4X8's. I don't know who made them. <br><br>The stereo is actually only 180 watts. The Escape gets the 300 watt Mach system.
