I've had a 4x2 ES Tribute on order since 9/28/00. I heard from the dealer that it's scheduled to be built in April. Every time I called I got another excuse and delay to the order. I can't wait anymore, I cancelled my order and bought a Toyota Highlander. Good luck to you all.

It's a shame you couldn't support our American workers, and buy an American made car...but not too many people care about that, do they?

??????missed the point. Even though his choice of a Toyota Highlander wouldn't be American built....PLENTY of America and Americans with Toyota, their distributors buy in America. Vehicles are GLOBAL now....there is no true "american" 100%, just like no Japanese Toyota. Toyota employs 1000's and dealers employ 1000's of workers. Today on a 15 year old Ford Escort Wgn, it read....BUY AMERICAN.....REMEMBER Pearl Harbor.....then god "d" it buy American....this reminded me of that. Free trade is VERY healthy, makes the GNP good. Sure there is a trade difference between the U.S. and Japan but for a country smaller than Texas its pretty darn good.

>> ...but not too many people care about that, do they? <<<

I made my living, paid my bills, put my wife through college with the sale of imported vehicles. I care!!!! I just choose the "free economy" and choose what "I" want. If you take the time to look at everything in your home you do/did too. The keyboard you type with, the watch you wear, the monitor you use, the forks you eat with, the roof of your home, the television.....THOSE add up big time, the trouble is when they are built in CHINA without free trade and pro communism that hurts. My point is gonna be clear.....BUY smart. It is a global economy.....without imports, you don't have exports....the larger the country the more import/export business has a crucial bearing on our fluid economy. When trade is down, we ALL suffer....Japan fell into a deep recession in the 90's....guess what, it was felt here too.

Nuff said, I almost erased this because it is far off topic but my motivation is simply my life has sure prospered from the sale of imported products and I am American...served my country too.

bob
