I am taking my Tribute in for several items soon, including the saggin headliner and the dripping headlight problem. Before I take it in I have several questions.

1. Regarding the heater. When my selector is set to floor only and the temparture is set in the 12 0'clock postion (neither full hot or full cold) I get a whistling sound coming from the vents by the windshield. This sound is not the same as normal air blowing througth the vents but louder and high pitched. Have any of you noticed this and is it normal or is something loose in there?

2. regarding the temperature control knob. Is your knob difficult to turn counter clockwise? In particular when it moves from the 2 oclock to the the 12 oclock postion. Ours really gets tight at in that area and requirs signicant force to rotate past that point. Before and and after that point the knob rotates smoothly. Is that normal or should I put that on my list of fixes?

3. regarding the button that acitivates the All-wheel drive mode. The little symbol representing the four wheels will light up when the headlights are on, but the word lock does not? Does your word 'lock' light up at night with the headlights on?

thanks

Regarding your points:

1- Yes I have the same sound, It's been driving crazy since I can't exactly figure out where is it comming from. The thing is, I dont think it was there when I got the car a year ago, but maybe I just didnt hear it until now, anyways, please let me know if you (or your dealer) figures out this sound.

2- its the same here, I think is normal, I tried it in a friend's trib and is the same.

3- the word lock does not light up but a light in your speedometer should light up.

I've had my Trib for over a year, and have not experienced any of the problems you describe.

My vent system sounds normal (although my feet get a bit cold in the winter sometimes - the bottom vent isn't too strong), the temperature control knob works fine in both directions, and although I've only used the AWD button once, and don't remember what the light was, I know it didn't depend on whether the headlights were on or not.

Sounds like you've got a few issues to discuss with your dealer. Good luck!
