Hi everyone,
I thought I'd pass along some updated info on the All Mazda Nationals
in Las Vegas from October 2 - 5. This event is sponsored by Mazda
North America and it would be cool to see lots of 626s there!
ONE WEEK and counting......
If you're not already signed up, you've GOTTA come! This is the event
of the year, with only $35 to get a FULL HOUR of track time (we're
the FIRST to drive on the newply-expanded 2.39 mile road course at
the Las Vegas Speedway), $40 for an SCCA-sponsored autocross with NO
WORK REQUIREMENT, great food, awesome fun runs, a funkana, and a
concert by Al Jardine. OMG, how can anyone miss this?!!You can still
register for the Main Event online, too, for $120 per person at
www.MazdaEvents.com . Or, keep reading for more info.
A few helpful hints: Make sure to bring along your chamois and
cleaning products for the show and shine! The hotel will have a spot
with hoses, some buckets and old towels but if you are like me you
would rather use your own cloths and car care products.
You will also want to bring a few portable chairs as well for the
track day (seating is limited at Las Vegas Motor Speedway). At the
track lunch break on Friday there will be a special chat back with
Tetsu Nakazawa (Vehicle Line Manager - Miata Product Strategy and
Development) under the red, white and blue awning. Tetsu is working
on a special edition Miata program and would like some input from
owners. The chat session will focus on what owner/enthusiasts would
like in a special edition and also what they expect in a future
Miata. In the event of wind or noise disruption this chat back will
be relocated to the Tuscany Hotel for Saturday afternoon.
Rotary owners will have had a wonderful weekend the week before with
all of their "leaders" at SevenStock, so we hope you consider
attending that event as well.
And speaking of noise...
ARE YOU READY FOR SOME... ZOOM-ZOOM?! O.K., so maybe that was a bit
loud, but you know, we have the perfect solution for that - Custom
Earplugs!
As you all are now aware, Greg Paulson, formerly of Skorpion Racing,
is going to be in Vegas on Thursday and Friday (10/2-10/3) to make
Custom Earplugs for those who are interested. And let me tell you,
they are awesome. I happen to own a pair myself and I don't drive
anywhere with out them!
They are only $45.00 a pair and they are worth every cent! They are
VERY popular in the Miata community here in sunny So Cal where the
top is down all the time. They definitely save our ears from ringing.
Now, if you are wondering if they are legal - they are very legal due
to the fact that they are made out of silicone. They act more as
Sonic Filters than anything else. The ear plugs block out the general
overall noise, but not completely. You will still be able to hear the
music that you are singing along with (we won't tell anyone) and the
person in your passenger seat talking. And you will always be able to
hear those sirens or horns that are consistently warning you of
danger.
To make things easier, and so that Greg can have all the materials he
needs handy, we need for everyone who is interested to contact Greg
IN ADVANCE (like NOW) directly at either 949-212-2429 or via e-mail
at greg@....
The list is quickly growing, so if you want a pair for Friday's track
day, make sure you you let him know ASAP and get in there on Thursday
to have them molded.
These could possibly be one of the best investments that you could
make - other than your Mazda that is!
The AutoCross Class is almost full!!!!!
Email Zack (me) at racerzack@... TODAY to get in on this event.
It will be held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and you CAN do the
Poker Run in the morning AND the AutoCross in the afternoon (our
class is at 2:30 at the speedway whi
