I have a 2002 Miata the engine, cooling system, and AC are stock. I am having the following issue with the AC. The car will run for a few miles and the AC will stop blowing cold air. The AC will not blow cold air again until the car has been shut down for a period of time. Today I ran the car for about 30 minutes and the AC worked perfectly in extremely hot weather (heat index is about 110 degrees today). I never know when it will stop working or for how long. The AC unit has not been serviced in the 6 years I have owned the car. The car has about 62K miles and has just had the timing belt replaced by a Mazda dealer. Any suggestion on what could cause this issue would be appreciated.
