WHAT THE....?? Just got back from dropping off the tribby ES V6 for its first oil change at the dealership and was kindly informed by the service man that it will be no less than $50!! He claims that the high price is due to the weight of the oil (50w) and the car itself. ???? Have not yet gotten around to calling other Mazda dealers to compare pricing - he siad they are all the same. So, what the F

They are being totally dishonest w/ you. The cost of the 5W-20 oil used in Tributes is not any more expensive than 5W-30 used in many Ford products (it might be just a bit less available, but not more expensive). Even if it were, they should still honor the coupons. The filters are the some used in millions of Ford products. I have changed oil and filter in the Tribute, and it's very easy. Don't do business w/ these crooks.

They said it requires a 50 wieght - thats 5-0 NOT 5w!!!! I swear that is what he said. When I asked if hubby could do it himself, he said that we would have to special order the oil, could not get it at Pep Boys, etc. HELP!!! my car is there right NOW

All Tributes take 5W-20 oil. DO NOT LET THEM PUT 50 weight in your Tribute!!!!! Tell them you want 5W-20 and if they don't have it, go to Wal-Mart and get it!!!!

man they want to make love to you, that's it. I always pay $25 at my Mazda dealer and that includes everything (oil, filter and the job) ah!! and they accept the coupons even when they always come from another dealer where I actually bought the car.

Hey

I just had an oil change (at the dealership) last month and was only charged $16.50). They had a coupon giving oil changes for $14.95-I paid a little extra because of the higher amount of oil & the difference in the price of that oil.

My regular mechanic (Goodyear franchise) advised I would have to pay a little more for the difference in oil due to the higher charge for that oil but thought it would only be about $2-3 more. They regularly charge $22 but i always get a coupon from them making it $17.95.

Start checking around and raise a stink!
Not even close to $50 and I am in West michigan

Lily11224

Here in Raleigh, NC a full service oil change at the dealership where I bought our Tribute is $18.17 using the recommended 5W-20 oil. You are definitely getting hosed BAD.
