A/C Noise. Anyone Else?

Hello,<br><br>I've got this annoying noise coming from my a/c when I have it on full blast (which is necessary quite often here in the South). The noise is subtle but definitely annoying. <br><br>I describe the sound as cellophane or paper being "handled" or opened. I've also said it sounds like dry leaves. The past couple of days, I've described the sound more like wires "arcing."<br><br>Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has any strange noises coming from their a/c.<br><br>My dealer was unable to "reproduce" the sound when I had it in to have the headliner replaced. However, when I got in it to drive off, I turned on the a/c and heard it immediately. I got the service guy and he was able to hear it. He went and got a Mazda technician and he even heard it. They don't have a clue what it is, but I have an appointment to have it checked out next Thursday.<br><br>Any help is appreciated.<br><br>Thanks,<br>Anthony

I have a high pitched squeal coming from mine with the fan on high. I too am weighing the dash dis- and re-assembly versus living with it. <br><br>Overall I have to say the AC system is loud. I've noticed I turn the radio way up when I've got the fan on higher settings.<br><br>Jen, ES 4wd

I brought in the vehicle because of this vent fan noise -- small yet irritating. They opened it up, removed the blower fan cover, yanked out and trimmed the housing that was touching the fan, and put everything back together. No more noise since then and it's been months ago. :)

Mine does it too. It sounds like it is coming from the left center register. It is only noticeable on the highest setting. I haven't taken it in for repair yet, because I don't trust the dealer to put the dash back together correctly. Besides, it is on lease and I only have to put up with it for two more years.

I have the same problem. I hear the "Dry Leaves"<br>through my left vent. I notice it even with the A/C on low. Anyone know of the fix?
