New on here but a seasoned vet mechanic of 20 years or so.I bought the car cheap to fix and sell.Car has 259k on it, body is mint, interior is mint, motor ran perfect before I repaired the P1195 code for the egr boost sensor(map sensor)It ran great then died on me.I have checked spark, ohmed the crank sensor, good, new plugs wires.I have fired the dizzy by hand and it does spark well with the cap off.Huge spark to say the least.Cap back on it will spark a couple times and then nothing but arcs inside the cap, I can hear like there is a crack in the cap somewhere.Does this sound like the culprit??Like I said it ran perfect before.I did a timing belt and waterpump, new clutch, cleaned the egr valve and ports, drove it and it was fine.Put on a map sensor, ran fine and then it died.I know its a spark related issue because the bores fill with fuel if I dont unplug them when testing for spark.
