96 MPV

I have a 96 MPV LE 4WD with the tow package. We now have 100,000 miles on it, generally trouble free. <br><br>My dealer said that I now need a new catalytic converter appx $1,000 installed. Yikes. A local European mechanic told me to simply ignore it unless there is a notable driving problem. Well, there is now. Has anyone out there tried to remove your cat and put in an aftermarket exhaust system? Any HP gain? What system did you use?<br><br>I am interested in increasing the HP as I tow a camper with the MPV. I have been called crazy towing a camper with my MPV, but I figured as long as I am keeping the camper within the manual's tow limits, I should be ok. You have any experience towing with your MPV? The car is slower than molasses!<br><br>Chris.
