First my fuel and temp gages booth died. Later the heater hose sprung a leak then I had to take the head into the shop and they sad it was bad but made it sort of like new, they told me because of the ware to set the cam pulley at #3 in stead of #1 now it has no power. Help!

Hi Thank you for your help. Its a 88 626 with a 2.2 non turbo , automatic trany. They shaved the head and said that it would have to be retarded and that I should set the cam with pin or key at the top of the cam and take the cam pulley and set it at # 3. I wasnt sure if he meant do that or set the cam at #3 and turn it back to #1 ( as well line up TBC on the crank ) Thankyou , Bill Eureka Ca

Your timing has to be set properly i.e back to original for the motor to work so set all your timing marks crank sprocket and both cam gears back to zero then put the belt back on it should be ok.

www.probetalk.com <http://www.probetalk.com/> www.mazda626.net <http://www.mazda626.net/> www.mx-6.com <http://www.mx-6.com/> I would try these 3 sites for information on your car, they have tones of members and lots of resources.

Thank you Andre! It could take a long time to sift through all these sites.Does anyone know that if I set the cam pulley on #1, #2 or #3 after the head has a valve job has been shaved .... will #1 or #2 cam pulley settings bend the valves? Thank you
