I just replaced the front pads on my daughters 91 626. Can't seem to entirely bleed the brakes. Pedal is mushy, but will pump up. After you lift you foot off the pedal, you have to pump the brakes up again.

That could be the pedal is not fixed securely try and recheck once again.
