2009 3.0l Oil Filter

Newbie Group: Members Posts: 1 Joined: 27-February 11 Member No.: 6,387 Drives: 2009 Tribute 3.0l Location: Hamilton, OH	2009 Tribute v-6 Have had the Tribute 3.0l for about 24k miles now, and the wife loves it... Been buying oil filters at the dealership since when we first bought it, and Fram didn't have one available. Every time we go to buy them, the dealer asks for the VIN number, says there are two different filters for the 3.0l engine, depending on when it was made, Parts and service dept have know idea of the difference. Anyone know why there are two different filters? Change to the engine, or they just decided to change filters? Thanks,
