Greeting everyone...I have a 1999 Millenia purchased new with 75,000
miles. It's had routine service. I am hoping someone has had this
problem.
Symptoms - when I put the car in reverseor drive it stutters
slightly; sometimes the rpm drop very low, but it never dies on me.
Once or twice this has happened while I was stopped at a stop light
and I was sure it was going to die and took several minutes to recover
and I wasn't sure it was going to go more than 10 mph. The check
engine light is on. It used to come off and on, but in the last 2
weeks it stays on.
I took it to the Mazda dealership in June 2004, and they could not
get the car to duplicate the "stuttering" problem. The only way the
mechanic could get it to stutter was to turn on the a/c and I hardley
ever use the a/c, even in the summer. They replaced a oring in the ac
system but this did not fix the problem.
I took it to the Autozone for the engine light and they said the
Mazda book was very vague as to the code, but they said it has
something to do with the emissions control, but could not give any
details because of the vagueness of the code.
When I had my oil changed recently he said the exhaust smelled like
rotten eggs possible running too rich?
Anyone had this sort of problem? Thanks...Donna
